Repairing Loose Serial Port on AUTOLAND SCIENTECH iSCAN II wt Diagnostics Station

Dealing with a common problem, we recently took care of a loose serial port issue with the AUTOLAND SCIENTECH iSCAN II wt diagnostics station. This port is really important because it helps connect the station to different vehicles, letting them communicate with their onboard computers smoothly.

We used a Torx screwdriver to take apart the Onboard Diagnostics Station. After looking closely, we made sure the motherboard’s soldering points were good to go. But there were some broken pins on the outside of the port – one on each side – messing up the connection. Plus, the center pins had moved because of damage to the plastic part at the back. Good news: these center pins weren’t broken, just out of place and affecting the plastic around them.

We fixed this by carefully soldering the broken pins on both sides. This made the port connection strong again. We also moved the center pins back where they belonged and put some super glue to keep the plastic part secure.

If you want to see how we did it, check out the pictures we’ve included. Our successful repair job got the serial port working like it should. Now, the AUTOLAND SCIENTECH iSCAN II wt can communicate smoothly with different vehicles’ onboard computers without any interruptions.
